Introduction

Volta Digital worked with Atlantic Wellness to introduce their free counselling service for young people in Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe. The service was new at  Youth Quest and the audience it was built for.  Young people aged 16 to 25 had no way of knowing it existed. We produced a bilingual awareness video, in English and French, showing what walking into that first appointment actually looks like.

Objectives

The goal was straightforward and difficult: make young people aware that free counselling is available to them locally, and make the idea of using it feel ordinary rather than daunting. For an audience at that age, awareness alone isn't enough. The video had to lower the barrier as well as announce the service.

Key Features and Benefits

  1. Built around the moment that matters. Rather than describing the service from the outside, the video follows two young people attending a session in a therapist's office. Showing the experience does more to reduce hesitation than any explanation of it could.

  2. Produced in English and French. Youth Quest serves three communities where both languages are spoken daily. Both versions were produced as part of the same project, so neither audience receives a translated afterthought.

  3. Made for more than one place. The video works as a standalone piece on the Atlantic Wellness website and as creative in a paid awareness campaign, which meant one production serving two purposes.

Outcomes

Atlantic Wellness has used the video in its awareness campaigns for Youth Quest. For a new service in three communities, the video gave the organization a consistent way to explain what Youth Quest is and who it's for, and in both languages.

Conclusion

A free service only helps the people who know about it, and a service for 16-to-25-year-olds has to be introduced in a way that doesn't feel clinical. By showing two young people going through the experience rather than describing it, the video gives Atlantic Wellness a way to reach the audience Youth Quest was built for. Volta Digital is glad to have supported that work.
